Our Izzy was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at the young age of 8. After months of daily stomach pain she wound up with what we, and her doctors, believed to be a stomach bug. But when her symptoms didn’t resolve and no one else in the family caught it, we knew something else was going on. We took her to a pediatric GI doctor and to our surprise she was quickly diagnosed with

Crohn’s. We prayed and hoped that this was an incorrect diagnosis, but an endoscopy and colonoscopy quickly confirmed her Dr’s diagnosis. We were all completely devastated.

Over the past 5 years Izzy has endured more medical procedures, needles, IV’s, hospital stays, pain and Drs visits than any child should have to. Watching your child suffer and hearing them moaning your name in pain, asking you to help them and make it stop, knowing there is nothing you can do is heart wrenching and it’s a scenario no parent, or child, should endure.

There is NO CURE for Crohn’s and the current treatments only get about 50% of patients into sustained remission. We can do better than this, we HAVE to do better than this. And for once, there is HOPE.

Propel a Cure is a grass roots organization with an ingenious plan to work with the medical community and finally develop a roadmap to a cure. But, they can’t do this without our support.
