Rockefeller Corporate Packing Event Campaign - Oct 2025

Join us on Thursday, October 30, 2025, as Backpack Buddies of Metro Atlanta partners with Rockefeller Global Family Office to host a food-packing event. Help us raise funds and awareness as we pack nutritious food bags for food-insecure children in the Metro Atlanta Area. Each bag will consist of six meals to help fill the tummies of hungry children over the weekend.

In 2017, a group of volunteers gathered each week at an Atlanta Synagogue to pack food for the hungry.  They partnered with a local elementary school that identified 10 students dependent on the school's free breakfast and lunch program.  Each Friday, the group delivered backpacks filled with non-perishable food to the school counselor, who discreetly sent those children home with enough food to last them through the weekend.  Word spread, and more volunteers got involved.  In February 2022, Backpack Buddies of Metro Atlanta incorporated and became a registered 501(c)(3) organization with centralized operations in Dunwoody, Georgia.  Our impact has grown to 50 Community Buddies who help serve 50 schools, feeding 2,625 children each week.  In April 2025, BPBMA reached a huge milestone and served our 1 Millionth Meal!  To date, BPBMA has served 1,485,440 pounds of food to over 206,300 students in metro Atlanta.
