Roe Roe's Heroes Childhood Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness, supporting research, providing scholarships, and helping local children and their families as they fight cancer.

Founded in 2021 by Chad and Meredith Tucker, the foundation’s advocacy work with research organizations and hospitals has helped raise more than one million dollars for children battling cancer.

The foundation is named in honor of the community of heroes who surrounded and supported the Tucker family as their daughter, Pearl Monroe “Roe Roe” Tucker, fought acute lymphoblastic leukemia for 858 days. Today, Roe Roe remains in remission.

Roe Roe’s Heroes Childhood Cancer Foundation Programs

Hero Night is a monthly community fundraising event honoring a child fighting cancer while also celebrating their siblings and parents. In partnership with local restaurants, the community gathers for a meal and fellowship to raise funds for the family. Occasionally, superheroes and princesses have been known to stop by, too.

The Hero Library provides comfort books to help young pediatric cancer patients, their siblings, and their parents along the journey.

Nancy McGee Smith Nursing Scholarship awards several nursing scholarships each year, named in honor of Roe Roe’s beloved nurse.

Roe Roe’s Yearly Birthday Donation Heroes to the pediatric oncology clinic that helped save her life. Each year on Roe Roe’s birthday—also the anniversary of her ringing the bell—the foundation donates a thousand dollars equal for each year ($10,000 = 10th birthday) to support families being served by the Brenner Children’s Pediatric Oncology Clinic.
