The Elizabeth Gaye Foundation and LeadHer to Purpose have partnered for a two-year collaborative initiative, Rooted & Rising, to strengthen community and build generational legacy across Black and Brown communities.

Grounded in lived experience and guided by those we serve, this partnership addresses gaps in access to culturally responsive spaces that nurture healing, leadership, and connection. We are creating affirming environments where our community can learn, lead, and grow — together.

What Rooted & Rising Includes

Intergenerational Leadership & Identity Workshops
Our tailored workshops are designed specifically for caregivers and their girls. These sessions focus on strengthening communication, building leadership capacity, deepening identity, and cultivating generational legacy in culturally affirming spaces. Families leave with practical tools, shared language, and strengthened bonds.

Annual Mind Your Business Conference
Our free annual Mind Your Business Conference is open to the entire Black and Brown community. This powerful mental health gathering offers dynamic workshops, panel discussions, and healing-centered experiences that normalize conversations around wellness and break generational stigma. To remove barriers, we provide meals and free childcare.

Community Partnerships & Ongoing Support
We work alongside trusted local organizations to ensure programming is accessible, culturally grounded, and connected to ongoing resources. Our goal is not just one-day impact — but sustained support and community care.
