ROOTED for Change is a community-driven nonprofit based in Central Texas, created to expand access to education, wellness, housing stability, and economic opportunity. We believe that when individuals are rooted in knowledge, well-being, and community, they thrive — and thriving people grow thriving communities.

Our founder, Dr. John Edwards, launched ROOTED in 2024 after witnessing firsthand how inequities in schools, healthcare, and opportunity ripple across families for generations. ROOTED was born out of lived experience and deep community listening, with one clear vision: to remove barriers and plant seeds of access, healing, and hope.

Our journey begins in Kyle, Texas, but our roots stretch wide. We’ve already started building partnerships with schools, health providers, and local organizations, and we’re hosting Community Voices sessions to ensure our programs reflect what people say they need most: mentorship for students, culturally responsive wellness circles, housing support, and pathways to stable, dignified work.

We are young, but we are bold. And every gift, every partnership, every voice helps us get closer to building the Legacy Center — a hub where education, wellness, and opportunity grow together under one roof. At ROOTED, we don’t just talk about change. We cultivate it — one family, one program, one community at a time.
