Rooted in Signal Hill: Community Giving

Signal Hill Community Garden is growing into something bigger this year.

For the first time, our gates are open.
We’re moving beyond rented plots and becoming a true community garden. It’s free, shared, and open to anyone who wants to contribute, learn, or simply enjoy the space.

But with that shift, we no longer have plot fees to support the garden.

To keep the garden open and thriving, we are asking for community support. With no more plot fees, donations help cover essential annual costs, currently $3,400.

🌼 Why We’re Asking for Support

This funding helps cover the basics that make a free, open garden possible, including:

  • Water and irrigation 💧

  • Insurance 🛡️

  • Lawn care and maintenance 🌱

  • General upkeep of the space 🛠️

These are the basics that make a free, open garden possible.

We also host free, community-focused moments like our Easter egg hunt and outdoor movie nights, and we want to create even more opportunities for neighbors to gather, connect, and make memories together.

🌻 Be Part of It

We’ve created simple giving tiers so anyone can contribute in a way that feels right.

This isn’t about renting a plot anymore.
It’s about supporting a space that belongs to all of us.

🏡 Rooted in Community

Your support helps create a place where neighbors connect, kids learn, and everyone is welcome.

We’re planting something bigger in Signal Hill, and we’d love for you to be part of it.
