Stretch Goal: raise $6,000 by Arbor Day 2024

The Roslindale Wetlands Urban Wild are a vital part of our community, providing flood control and habitat for diverse plant and animal species. For the past two years, the ecological restoration the Urban Wild, funded by the City of Boston, has done much to restore the health of this local gem - but there's a long way to go.

We are launching a fundraising campaign to plant trees and understory plants in the Roslindale Wetlands. Trees play a crucial role in maintaining the health of wetland ecosystems by stabilizing soil, preventing erosion, and creating a rich habitat for countless species.

About the Longfellow Area Tree Fund

The Longfellow Area Neighborhood Association (LANA) and the Roslindale Wetlands Task Force (Task Force) have decided to establish an ongoing Tree Fund (the “Fund”) for the purchase of native trees and other native species for planting in the Roslindale Wetlands, and to support plantings in other areas of the neighborhood.

Between November 13, 2023 and April 26, 2024, donations to the Tree Fund will be allocated toward the ecological restoration and continued maintenance of the Roslindale Wetlands Urban Wild.
