In honor of Rowan’s birthday again, we are doing a walk and making a donation to Push for Empowered Pregnancy, an organization that is on a mission to end preventable stillbirth. They are doing this by empowering moms, bringing awareness, and lobbying for health care standards to change.

65 families bring home an empty infant car seat every single day. That’s the equivalent of a 757 max airplanes crashing and everyone on board dying, twice in one week. If we saw that on the news every week, we would demand for change in aircraft’s and their regulation. 75% of stillbirths in the United States could be prevented if we matched our best international counterparts in health care standards for moms and babies. The United States is ranked 183rd out of 195th in average rate of stillbirth reduction, aka we are almost the worst at preventing stillbirth. We want to help end the harmful stigma that this only happens in high risk pregnancy and its the fault of mothers; most of stillbirths occur in pregnancy’s that are considered low risk and healthy. BIPOC families are at significantly higher risk of stillbirth, even when they are economically & educationally privileged. We want to also bring awareness to that in hopes to eliminate racial disparities in pregnancy outcomes across the board.

We are going to do a walk together and are inviting anyone and everyone to join us if they’d like, and/or make a donation in honor of Rowan. We are made shirts again this year for Rowan’s Run and the link is here below. $5 from each shirt will go Push as a donation. You don’t have to be here to do it. You’re welcome to walk where ever you are in located in honor of him, everyone’s welcome so please help get the word out, we want to be part of bringing awareness and making a change.
