Greetings friends and colleagues!
I am a board member of the Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Association (RPLA) and we are in a fundraising campaign all together to raise $55,000. in 55 days. You will see my colleagues on our Givebutter Home Page.
I have been so fortunate to work with individual families over the past 45 years and these couples have become like family. Now, in retirement, I can't see individual couples and work with them, but I have the time to advocate for education and research involving pregnancy loss and hopefully make impact on clinicians and families. I may never meet the folks with successful outcomes but hopefully we can make impact on these folks and their clinicians regarding pregnancy loss.
We have been working hard to spread the word and support research to continue to investigate reasons for these tragic losses. Recently, we have met and spoken in New York city, Minneapolis, Phoenix and Scottsdale discussing and giving patients information and giving clinicians practical "pearls" that they can use in their offices the next day to increase individual couples a better chance of a successful pregnancy.
We are giving couples information to make them better at asking the right questions and gaining information. We are speaking with clinicians regarding information that patients want and need. We recently have focused on the availability of new methods of chromosomal testing on lost pregnancies that may shed light on the genetic, or EXPLAINED, pregnancy losses as well as how to proceed with an approach to UNEXPLAINED pregnancy losses, when the testing returns normal. Couples want ANSWERS and we are giving clinicians ways to get them answers. One of the frustrations of patients and clinicians alike is to get answers to maximize their chances to move to a successful pregnancy, what we like to call their Rainbow Baby
Recurrent pregnancy loss is a puzzle, and it not only affects the families impacted by loss, but also the care teams trying to provide treatments and other needed support. Providers often lack the tests and tools to give families comprehensive answers to their most pressing and needed question, why did this happen?
But YOU can help assemble a future where RPL is eliminated by investing in Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Association’s (RPLA) “A Promise in Every Piece” campaign.
Any size donation will help and we will not stop until we can "move the needle" Please help us!
