RUMA Collective is a DMV-based arts and health-equity organization that focuses on financial education and collective power building. We build the infrastructure that makes creative and community work sustainable. We support low income artists, organizers, and community-rooted ventures who are carrying big visions while navigating income volatility, caregiving, discrimination, and the constant administrative labor that comes with trying to keep yourself—and your work—intact.

Many of the people we serve live at the intersections of multiple identities, including Black, queer, trans, femme, mother, neurodivergent, navigating disability or of immigrant descent. Our goal is not just short-term relief; it’s generational impact and systems change—shifting what’s possible when the people shaping culture and community have consistent access to care, resources, and institutional-level support.

In our most recently completed fiscal year, RUMA delivered ~95 hours of booked 1:1 support, ~200 hours of recurring coaching calls, and ~55 hours of ad hoc 1:1 support, plus 8 collective retreats with extended planning sessions and presentations for groups and project teams. We’ve supported communities in fundraising over $300,000 for their projects and ventures.
