In 2011 I received my 1st heart transplant. I was 23 and was completely blindsided when I was told that I needed a life saving heart transplant to live. I was active and healthy my entire life. I never had so much as the flu. Unfortunately I contracted a virus while I was in nursing school, and it attacked my heart and other organs. That transplant lasted me an amazing 11 years. I traveled, lived my life, and got married. Unfortunately I developed coronary vasculopathy and needed to be re listed. I was blessed with a 2nd transplant in August of 2022. A wise woman (Taylor Swift) once said to “live for the hope of it all”. That is how I live my life today. How precious life is, is not lost on me. I try to live each moment as it comes and to cherish the small moments.
