Every day, children in remote regions are confronted with the harsh reality that, to attain an education, they must brave treacherous terrain, debilitating heat, flash floods, avalanches, predators, and more. What many students in the U.S. describe as a "long" commute to and from school is a mere inconvenience and entirely inconceivable to many children of parallel age.
