At Puentes de Salud, we are dedicated to building healthier lives for Latine uninsured immigrants in Philadelphia. Our mission is to provide comprehensive healthcare services that address the unique needs of our community.

Why Resilience Matters: Resilience is the strength to overcome adversity. For many immigrants, the journey to a new life in the United States is fraught with challenges, from navigating a new culture to accessing basic healthcare. Under the Trump administration, these challenges have intensified with mass deportation threats, and policies that freeze federal funding and create uncertainty for essential services. Despite these obstacles, the Latino immigrant community has shown remarkable strength and resilience.

Our Impact. Since 2008, Puentes de Salud is proud to offer a range of programs that promote health and wellness: 1) Access to direct medical: partnerships with Penn Medicine and Jefferson Heath (among others) allow us to focus on adult primary care and prevention. 2) Mental Health Services: Providing essential support for mental well-being. 3) Food Access Programs: Ensuring families have access to nutritious meals enhancing food security. 4) Case Management: Helping individuals navigate healthcare and social services. 5) Promotora Program: Training community health workers to empower and educate.

Puentes de Salud (Bridges to Health) is a non profit 501 3c committed to improving the health and wellness of Spanish speaking immigrants in Philadelphia by creating a pipeline of bilingual, bicultural, community grounded health professionals poised to address social determinants of health. We offer medical, dental, behavioral and nutritional training in addition to educational support and mentorship for children. Our medical, dental,behavioral, nutritional, educational and art programs are free or low cost for those who can afford a donation. The people we serve are primarily 150% below poverty level and pay taxes but are unable to access insurance.
