My Aunt Kelly is one of the our founders of Cuentos Para Cambios. Aunt Kelly has known Rosario (Chayo, for short), since she was 10 years old. Chayo lives next to the library with her husband and daughter Maykeling, along with her extended family (Parents, brothers, sisters, in-laws, and babies- there’s 14 altogether!) Chayo’s youngest was born a few years before the library was built, but the moment it opened, they were the first in the doors. Maykeling spends her every afternoon in the library reading to anyone who will listen, creating beautiful art, and soaking in all the knowledge she can. Chayo’s next little won’t ever have to want for a book- because there will be a whole world to explore next door. Maykeling can’t wait to read to her new sibling!
