A Campaign for The Vivienne L. Jackson Sanctuary for the Arts

A new chapter is rising for Selah. In June 2026, we open the doors of The Vivienne L. Jackson Sanctuary for the Arts, our new home inside the historic First United Methodist Church in Winchester, Virginia. What was once a place of stillness is becoming a home for voices, movement, story, and community: a space where imagination gets to breathe.

To cross this threshold, we’re launching the Light the Sanctuary Campaign, a chance for our community to help build a fully equipped, fully alive theatre space. Your support becomes the spark that lifts the curtain, powers the lights, amplifies the stories, and welcomes audiences for years to come.

What Your Gift Builds

Each contribution strengthens one of the five pillars that will shape our new home:

Stage Curtains — the velvet wings that cradle each performance.
Stage Lighting — instruments that sculpt shadow, color, and mood.
Sound System — crisp, powerful audio that lets every voice be heard.
Concession Booth — a warm gathering spot that turns spectators into community.
Patron Software Upgrade — smoother operations, better accessibility, and stronger communication with the people we serve.

About Selah Theatre Project

Selah Theatre Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Winchester, Virginia. Founded by Artistic Director Bleu Do’zia, Selah began with a single children’s show in 2012, made possible by family, friends, and a shared belief that art belongs to everyone.

Today, Selah stands as the region’s leading provider of year-round dramatic arts education, offering pre-professional training for teens, inclusive theatre classes for youth of all ages, and opportunities for students regardless of financial circumstances. Our mission is rooted in bold storytelling, community connection, and elevating diverse voices throughout the Shenandoah Valley.

With five seasonal productions, three annual special events, and ensembles that nurture artists, Selah continues to invite audiences to pause, reflect, and imagine. Together, we create work that matters.
