The word Sankofa, from the Akan people of Ghana, reminds us that we must look back to move forward. It teaches us that our greatest strength lies in learning from our history while creating a better future for generations to come.

Youth Wellness & Leadership

Every child deserves tools that help them navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience.

Our Teen Yoga Teacher Program introduces young people to movement, mindfulness, leadership, and emotional wellbeing in culturally affirming spaces. Participants develop lifelong skills while discovering that they have the power to lead, inspire, and positively impact their communities.

Yoga Teacher Scholarship Fund

The cost of certification prevents many aspiring yoga teachers from pursuing a career dedicated to healing others.

Our Yoga Teacher Scholarship Fund removes that financial barrier by helping adults access professional training. Each scholarship expands the number of culturally responsive wellness practitioners who can bring accessible healing practices into schools, community centers, nonprofits, and neighborhoods where they are needed most.

Creative & Wellness Entrepreneurship Accelerator

Artists, teaching artists, and wellness practitioners often follow entrepreneurial paths that traditional business programs were never designed to support. Their work is rooted in community impact, multiple income streams, creative practice, and cultural knowledge that isn't always recognized or valued within conventional business models.

Our Creative & Wellness Entrepreneurship Accelerator provides culturally responsive mentorship, business education, and practical tools designed specifically for creative and wellness professionals. By helping participants build sustainable businesses, we strengthen local economies while ensuring communities continue to benefit from their gifts.

Play & Ground Festival

Communities thrive when people have opportunities to gather, move, create, and belong.

Play & Ground is more than a festival—it is the launch of year-round wellness and creativity activations that bring people together through movement, arts, nutrition, play, and cultural experiences. The festival introduces families to local resources, celebrates community assets, and inspires ongoing participation in programs that support healthier, more connected neighborhoods.

Community Kwanzaa Celebration

Our annual Kwanzaa Celebration creates an intergenerational gathering where families celebrate African and African diasporic traditions through storytelling, music, dance, visual arts, and shared reflection.
