Beyond this, dead oyster shell provide habitat for larval oysters to settle, grow, and build more reef. By recycling shell from your table to the shore, we are diverting shell from reaching the landfill and instead returning it to coastal waters where it can serve as the foundation for future oyster reef building"

Our restaurant partners collect oyster shells from your plate. Shell to Shore hauls the shell to a farm outside Athens, where it cures for 6 months until they are ready to be hauled to the coast. In the process, we are connecting restaurant partners with our coastal oyster farmers, and oyster consumers to the environmental role oysters play for our planet. Beyond this, we aim to support sustainably farmed oysters in our state and create a new platform for the creative use of recycled shell.
