Help Us Get These Eight Puppies Off the Streets of South Texas

For the last two weeks, I have been posting these puppies. There have been thousands of comments, but so far there really is not a definitive plan in place for more than maybe three of them.

All eight are still out there.

They are at risk and in danger, and we need to get them off the streets immediately. I cannot, in good conscience, take only a couple of puppies and leave the others behind.

So we’re going for all eight — and it’s going to cost a fortune.

We have broken down the expected costs based on pricing through the local low-cost clinic in the area. To fully vet, vaccinate, spay and neuter all eight puppies, provide preventatives and testing, obtain health certificates, board them for four weeks, and transport them from South Texas to foster homes, we are looking at an estimated $6,753.

$1,000 has already been raised privately, leaving $5,753 still needed.

This estimate does not include unforeseen medical issues, additional medications, emergency veterinary care, or other unexpected expenses.

If we can raise these funds, Second Start Rescue will take all eight puppies off the streets and get them to safety.

We are also accepting help from other rescues interested in taking one or more of these puppies. If another rescue commits to a dog, we will work with them and help cover the cost of getting that dog to them out of state using the funds raised.

Because these puppies are still on the streets, circumstances can change before we are able to get to them. If one or more is safely placed before we are able to take them, donations designated for this fundraiser will either be refunded or applied toward another dog in need, at the donor’s request.
