River's Room — Honoring a Legacy of Love

For those who knew River—whether he helped your dog, you met him at an event, followed his story online, or simply smiled at the videos we shared—you know the kind of impact he had. Now, we’re asking for your help to honor his incredible legacy.

River’s Story

River was the original orphan who inspired the creation of our Orphan Puppy Program. Found abandoned roadside at just 4 weeks old in Connecticut, I raised him while researching and learning the best ways to help an orphaned puppy thrive.

What happened next was nothing short of magical.

River became:

🐶 A breed ambassador who changed perceptions and hearts

🐶 Our official puppy raiser, teaching thousands of orphaned puppies good manners and the love they deserved

🐶 The face of national campaigns

🐶 My best friend and right-hand rescue helper

This year, River lost his battle with a brain tumor. His passing left a hole in our rescue and in my heart that words can’t truly capture.
