Imagine being just 5 months old and facing a life-threatening medical crisis. That's the reality for Christopher, a pug puppy who was recently surrendered to us when his previous owners could no longer manage his severe health issues. They did all they could but his medical needs were far more than they could handle and we are very thankful they made the decision to let us help him.

Our veterinary team discovered he was battling two critical conditions: a large bladder stone and a liver shunt. The bladder stone was blocking his right ureter, which is the small tube that carries urine from the right kidney to the bladder. The liver shunt imeant his body wasn't properly processing toxins, proteins, and nutrients from the bloodstream, leading to a host of other serious complications. These aren't just minor ailments; they were causing him immense pain and threatened his young life.
Thanks to the swift action of our dedicated team, Christopher has already undergone emergency surgery for both conditions. This complex procedure was absolutely essential to save him, but it comes with a significant cost.

Christopher's current medical expenses total $8,247.13.

Christopher is now on the road to recovery and is receiving round-the-clock care, pain management, and specialized nutrition to ensure his body heals properly. Christopher has made incredible progress in a short amount of time but his journey isn't over. He'll need ongoing monitoring and follow-up appointments in 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and then yearly.
