Grace, who was currently being lovingly cared for by our wonderful foster mom, Brittany.

Grace was found lying beside the body of a deceased deer, malnourished and struggling for survival. She arrived covered in sores, with an injured leg, and numerous other health issues, making her situation dire. Thankfully, a compassionate individual named Brittany came into her life. Brittany took the brave step of taking Grace in to help fight and advocate for her in ways that Grace could not do alone. By reaching out to us for help, Brittany became a valued member of our healing community.

I wanted to provide an update regarding our beloved Betty Grace. After consultations with veterinarians and an orthopedic surgeon, we faced the heartbreaking decision to euthanize her. This is not the news we had hoped for, but after reviewing her X-rays and assessing her pain management, we determined that she was enduring significant suffering due to several untreated fractures in her legs, as well as a bullet wound. The muscle healing around the bullet suggests that she had been shot some time ago and had been bravely enduring that struggle alone.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your generous donations. Our work would not be possible without your support. While this news is difficult to convey, I want to remind you of the impact your contributions have made. Although Betty Grace fought her battle alone for much of her life, she spent her final days surrounded by the best team in Orangeburg County, who stood by her side. She was deeply loved by one of our top fosters, who cherished her as if she were her own. Thanks to our dedicated donor team, we were able to carry out such a meaningful mission.

In honor of Betty Grace, we have decided to keep this campaign open, transforming it into an honorary initiative aimed at supporting dogs like her and combating animal abuse.
