More information about DMD and the Immunotherapy

Nehorai's doctors stress that every day makes a difference in his battle against DMD, which relentlessly destroys muscle tissue, causing children to progressively lose the ability to walk, stand, and eventually breathe.

A revolutionary one-time gene therapy called Elevidys has emerged, changing the outlook for DMD. Children who have received this treatment have regained strength, mobility, and hope. Elevidys, approved by the FDA as the first gene therapy for DMD, is a one-time treatment. However, it is one of the most expensive drugs globally, costing $3.2 million.

Over 140 children have participated in the clinical development program for Elevidys. Boys who received Elevidys could perform physical tasks like standing up, walking, and running faster and more efficiently. It's miraculous.

*Thanks to his mother Sara's tireless prayers, persistence, and advocacy, Nehorai's Israeli insurance will cover 80% of the treatment costs. The family has already spent thousands on his care and treatments in Israel and the USA, depleting the father’s IDF pension. Nehorai will be the first child to receive this treatment in Israel, and it is planned to take place at Hadassah University Medical Center.

The remaining cost for this life-saving immunotherapy treatment is $640,000. We must raise these funds to close the gap and save his life.
