Collective Futures Land Project was born our of necessity. We came together to save one of the San Francisco's most beloved community projects - Template House. We are working hard to transition this incredile building and community into our community land trust. Once we have succeeded with this, will hope to continue helping other intentional communities repeat the process. That is after all, why Template House was given this name, to be the template :)

Our mission

A. Providing affordable housing in California, with special attention and efforts to vulnerable and underserved populations. Such populations include, but are not limited to, formerly incarcerated, mentally ill, formerly unhoused, migrant workers, addicts, and survivors of domestic abuse.

B. Expanding California’s communally owned and managed land and housing.

C. Operating by a collectivist method of organization; applying democratic principles to economic activity and reaping the benefits of shared cost, self-control, and respect for the rights of others.

D. Maintenance of an environment conducive to personal growth, where self-discovery and exposure to various value systems, practical and intellectual learning, and experience with collective decision-making and mutual investment in the necessities and pleasures of life provide opportunity for personal and communal betterment.
