🌹 Protect Oklahoma’s Rose Rocks
I’m on a mission to protect one of Oklahoma’s rarest natural treasures — the Barite Rose, our official state rock, known lovingly as the Rose Rock.
These extraordinary formations are found only here, in Oklahoma’s red dirt, and they carry the story of our land’s beauty, history, and resilience.
But these treasures are in danger. Development and land speculation are rapidly threatening the few remaining Rose Rock sites. Once these places are gone, this part of Oklahoma’s natural heritage will be lost forever.
As the founder of Red Dirt Roses and the Oklahoma Rose Rock Gallery, I’ve dedicated my life to researching, teaching about, and protecting these remarkable minerals. This passion is now a huge part of who I am, and helping be become who I'm meant to be.
💎 How Your Donation Helps
Being passionate about a cause isn't enough. Achievements and progress can't happen without dedication and action, and I have big plans. Your support directly helps me continue to:
Provide educational materials for kids and adults to learn about Rose Rocks in classrooms and at events
Continue public outreach and conservation campaigns that raise awareness on social media and in local communities
Conduct on-site geological research to better understand how and where Rose Rocks form
Keep OklahomaRoseRocks.com online and free for everyone to explore
Build momentum toward purchasing land where Rose Rocks naturally occur, so it can be put it in trust, keeping it safe from threats like investment companies and eminent domain.
My long-term vision is to help establish an official Rose Rock State Park and one day open a Red Dirt Rose Museum — places where Oklahomans and visitors alike can connect with the land and its story.
🌿 Why It Matters
With your help, I can continue doing what I’m meant to do: educate, protect, and advocate for Oklahoma’s Rose Rocks. Even small contributions make a real difference — from printing educational materials to funding field research and outreach trips I currently can’t afford.
I was raised not to ask for help, but I’ve learned that protecting something bigger than myself requires community.
If you believe that Oklahoma’s natural wonders are worth saving — that our Rose Rocks deserve to be cherished, studied, and preserved (and if you're blessed to be in a position to help) --- I hope that you'll invest in my mission.
When a person chooses to focus on good things, things they want to happen, it's a powerful thing.. And when many people come together, believing good things will happen, it can make a profound difference towards making the world a better place.Â
Thank you for believing 🌹
