Steele County Coalition for Healthy Youth
Empowering Youth to Choose a Chemical Free Lifestyle!
We are currently raising funds to continue our Youth substance use prevention and mental health work in Steele County.
Youth Mental Health First Aid Training - Youth Mental Health First Aid course. This invaluable program is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to identify, understand, and response to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adolescents aged 12-18.
THC Educational Series - The coalition did research to create education videos on various topics of THC to educate others to be safe. We reached out to many individuals to speak on these topics for this series.
Opioid Series - The coalition researched legal and illegal opioid use to create an educational series to educate the public on the dangers of overdose and how to prevent addiction. Naloxone Kit Training and Distribution events have been hosted throughout Steele County. This is free training provided to community members that would like to be prepared in case of an emergency.
Teen Mental Health Action Team - This team of community partners have come together to address the concerns our youth have, including having safe spaces for activities outside of school and home, and access to mental health resources. Teen Activity Nights will begin in July of 2024 each month. Mental Health Resource QR Code Stickers - will be given to every school in Steele County each school year with updated resources on a QR Code sticker that can be affixed to the back of their student ID.
Alcohol, Tobacco, Vaping, and more... The coalition provides support for youth prevention education for alcohol, tobacco, vaping, and more through a variety of programs. Tobacco/Vaping Signs - We are currently raising funds to replace the Tobacco Free Zone Signs to include vaping.
