Each night in Louisville, roughly 600 individuals live on the street, exposed to the elements with nowhere to turn because the shelters are always full. Thousands more are experiencing hidden homelessness or are on the brink of chronic homelessness. They are desperately seeking help with food, shelter, safety, and warmth. This winter season, please help us to help our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
With your support at Louisville Outreach for the Unsheltered (L.O.U.), during our cold weather outreach efforts, we can provide immediate relief with winter weather gear, blankets, warming supplies, and snack bags. During these cold weather efforts, we provide crucial services (including transportation to shelters, warming stations, hospitals, and rehabilitation facilities) that help individuals regain stability. From assisting with obtaining IDs and birth certificates to helping with insurance and legal barriers, all the way to housing navigation, our mission is not only to meet urgent needs but to help people rebuild their lives.
Be the light in someone’s darkest hour. Your gift this season could be the start of someone’s journey toward a new life.
