Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity initiative that empowers women around the world to positively impact lives in their communities. In supporting Women Build, not only are you investing in building critically needed affordable housing, you are helping build strong and stable neighborhoods where residents can thrive for generations to come. Through Women Build, you have the opportunity to emerge as a leader on the vital issue of affordable housing and equity building in South Metro Atlanta’s inclusive and sustainable growth.
Story
Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity (SCHFH) provides affordable homeownership opportunities for low to moderate income families, as well as home preservation to income qualified families, seniors, and veterans.
Habitat impacts hundreds of individuals a year in Clayton, Fayette, and Henry Counties through build, repair, and community projects. Women, especially those who serve as head of their families and women of color, disproportionately face obstacles that make accessing decent, affordable housing seem impossible. At Habitat, we know that stable, affordable homeownership is transformative for all families.
As a locally supported nonprofit, the work we do is only made possible through support from our local community.

Through Women Build, you have the opportunity to emerge as a leader on the vital issue of affordable housing and equity building in South Metro Atlanta’s inclusive and sustainable growth.
Women Build participants work in a collaborative atmosphere under the guidance of construction professionals and alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. The program nurtures, recruits, and trains women to build and maintain attractive, decent, healthy and affordable homes in their community. It is an opportunity for women to build for women.

About Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity
Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity builds affordable homes and completes home repairs for income-qualified families, who need a hand up, not a handout. Through education and financial literacy, families are prepared to be successful homeowners. By partnerships with volunteers and donors in Henry, Clayton and Fayette Counties, their mission of building homes, communities and hope is possible.
