About This Fund

This fund was established to create wider access to WITPGH programming opporutnities and to also support the holistically developed efforts designed to address inequities within tech professional development.

As a nonprofit, shouldn't all your programming be free?

Researching, designing, developing, coordinating, and facilitating learning opportunities take effort; and we believe everyone should be paid for their labor. As a grassroots organization, we don't always have the means to cover instructor fees, materials fees, space rentals, and other required costs associated with bringing an elevated, valuable experience to life. As a result we sometimes require attendees to make a donation in order to attend. Reserach has also proven that having a stake in the result (i.e. making a financial investment into learning something new) promotes attendance, retention, and engagement and we like to support individuals in being able to follow through with their commitments!

Women In Tech PGH (WITPGH) is a local grassroots organization dedicated to human-centered workforce development and community building for Pittsburgh women in technology. With wellbeing, connection, holistic skill building, and paying it forward at the core of our approach, we are redefining the path of professional development and economic mobility to drive autonomy for women’s careers.

Our Approach

Our approach is two-pronged:

One that offers wrap-around support for scholars through coaching, wellbeing, and amplification.
The other extends our reach into the community to ignite interest and support aspiring women through exploratory programming; creating an ecosystem that empowers women, values their unique experiences, and supports their comprehensive growth through work-life integration.
