Protect. Guide. Empower. Inspire.

Children for Change is proud to partner with international recording artist HEZRON, the Rotary Club of Liguanea Plains, and Kiwanis Club of Montego Bay on the ‘Save the Children’ School Tour - bringing music, mentorship, meaningful conversations, and community engagement into schools and communities across Jamaica.

At the heart of the initiative is HEZRON’s powerful belief that music can be a vehicle for change.

Through his song Save the Children, HEZRON delivers a message that speaks not only to protecting our children, but to the responsibility we all share in guiding, nurturing, encouraging, and preparing them for life.

“Teach dem truths, teach dem rights
Show dem love, treat dem kind
Guide dem to be fearless on their journey of life
Teach dem pride, show dem care.”

These words capture the heart of the School Tour.

OUR CHILDREN NEED MORE THAN PROTECTION.

THEY NEED GUIDANCE, SUPPORT, AND SOMEONE TO BELIEVE IN THEM.

When HEZRON visits a high school, the conversation naturally expands beyond child protection. He speaks to young people about education, purpose, perseverance, and the future they can create for themselves.

He reminds them that their circumstances do not have to define their future - that they can dream, they can pursue their education, they can discover their purpose, and they can make it anywhere if they are willing to persevere.

For younger children, the message is about building a strong foundation of love, confidence, values, and safety.

For teenagers, it becomes a message of mentorship, possibility, and purpose.

And for parents, it is a reminder that they are among the most important influences in a child's life.

As HEZRON sings:

“Mother, the first voice to be heard.
The first teacher from they would learn.
Your duty is to protect them.”

And:

“Father, the first voice to be heard,
The first teacher from whom they would learn.
You are his hero, and she's daddy's little girl.”

PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN IS ONLY THE BEGINNING.

We need to be more present.
More vigilant.
More intentional.

We need to create safe spaces where children feel comfortable speaking up when something happens to them - and where the adults around them know how to listen, respond, and protect them.

But we also need to guide our children toward their future.

We need to encourage them to stay in school, discover their talents, develop their confidence, make positive choices, and believe that their lives can be bigger than the circumstances around them.

The ‘Save the Children’ School Tour began during Jamaica's recovery from Hurricane Melissa, when children can easily become overlooked as families and communities focus on the urgent work of rebuilding. That experience reinforced an important truth:

Even in times of crisis, we cannot lose sight of our children.

And when the immediate crisis passes, our responsibility does not.

OUR MISSION

Through music, mentorship, parent engagement, and community conversations, the School Tour seeks to reach more schools, students, parents, teachers, and communities across Jamaica.

We want to:

PROTECT children by raising awareness and encouraging safer environments.

GUIDE parents and caregivers in their role as the first teachers and protectors of their children.

MENTOR young people and remind them that they have a future filled with possibilities.

EMPOWER students to pursue education, discover their purpose, and believe in their ability to succeed.

INSPIRE communities to become more intentional about raising, supporting, and protecting the next generation.

HELP US REACH MORE CHILDREN.

Help us take the ‘Save the Children’ School Tour to more schools, more parents, and more communities across Jamaica.

Your support can help us bring music, mentorship, education, parent engagement, and important conversations directly to the people who need them.

Because every child deserves to feel safe.

Every young person deserves to know they have a future.

And every parent deserves to know they are not alone in raising the next generation.

Protect them.
Guide them.
Believe in them.
Give them the tools to thrive.

Together, we can help Jamaica's children not only survive - but discover who they are, believe in who they can become, and make it anywhere.
