It always breaks my heart to see homeless people. It's doubly bad when I see a homeless person with a sick pet (limping/ coughing, etc). I always wish for a way to help. Street Dogs gives me a chance to help those homeless pets, which helps the people who depend on them for comfort, companionship and stability in a lifestyle full of hardship and uncertainty. Pets are constant, non-judgemental. This is how I can help. I go to the monthly clinics to do exams (being a vet), give vaccinations, do heartworm testing and provide parasite prevention medications. But, I see times when the clinic has to turn expectant pet owners away because we've run out of supplies because of lack of funds for the months' purchases. This is a way that I can raise money for the cause while ginving tribute to those struggling pet owners who often walk miles a day with their pets. By donating to my Street Dog Step Challenge you are not only helping strengthen and support the human-animal- bond between the homeless and their pets by keeping those pets healthy, you will encourage me to get healthy, too!
