SSR Senior Fund

We are implementing a new program where we set aside funds to assist adopters of our senior dogs and utilize wish lists for food and other items.

How is this different than a traditional fospice program?

These dogs will be adopted. In fospice, the assumption is the dogs will spend the remainder of their days in their foster home, but if the right home or adopter becomes available, they could go there. In this newer program, the dogs have already found their forever homes. They mesh well with the pack and are well taken care of. However, for homes like this to continue bringing additional dogs in as fosters for us, they require support. Generally, these dogs are all seniors and harder to place. Instead of uprooting them and moving them to a different home, they stay where they are with a little extra support from our community.

This fund is a work in progress and its parameters will evolve as additional funds become available. To start, this fund will be available to our fosters who adopt from us and continue to also foster for us. We will post wish lists for food and supplements. We will also collect funds to assist with medical emergencies if they arise. This will be a specific fund set aside just for these senior dogs. Donors will be aware which of our senior dogs will be the recipients of these funds.
