Sentinel Research & Policy Institute was created out of a simple but urgent recognition: the threats facing the United States today are no longer confined to battlefields or borders. They target ideas, institutions, and decision-making itself. Too often, these threats fall into the gaps between government, academia, and the public sphere.

SRPI exists to close those gaps.

Founded by national security practitioners and scholars, SRPI is an independent nonprofit research organization dedicated to advancing U.S. national security through rigorous analysis, education, and public engagement. Our work focuses on counterintelligence, information defense, and strategic competition, especially where foreign influence and manipulation threaten democratic governance.

We believe counterintelligence is not just a government function. It is a societal responsibility. Democracies depend on informed citizens, resilient institutions, and ethical leadership. When adversaries exploit openness, trust, and division, defending the nation requires more than classified solutions. It requires research that is accessible, principled, and grounded in real-world experience.

SRPI produces applied research, publishes scholarly and public-facing analysis, and supports education initiatives that translate complex security challenges into clear insights. Our work is conducted entirely using open-source information and adheres to strict standards of academic integrity, transparency, and nonpartisanship.

As a nonprofit, SRPI operates independently of government agencies while maintaining close awareness of the real challenges facing policymakers, educators, and communities. This independence allows us to ask hard questions, explore innovative approaches, and engage audiences beyond traditional security circles.

Our goal is not alarmism, advocacy, or ideology. It is understanding. By studying threats with rigor and confronting them with wisdom, SRPI works to strengthen America’s cognitive, informational, and institutional resilience for the long term.
