What is SARC?

The Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC) has provided services for survivors of sexual violence for over forty years. SARC serves the entire Brazos Valley, including Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson, and Washington counties. SARC is the only organization to provide dedicated services to survivors of sexual violence across the seven counties. 

Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the Sexual Assault Resource Center's Crisis Hotline provides survivors of sexual violence and their significant others immediate support, crisis intervention, accompaniments to hospitals or to report.  

Advocacy- The advocacy program provides wrap-around support to survivors of sexual violence through information and referrals, basic needs assistance, and on-going crisis support. These services include legal referrals for protective orders, Crime Victims Compensation application assistance, and law enforcement and court accompaniments or even changing locks on doors or changing housing.

Counseling services is provided by licensed, trauma-focused therapists on a weekly basis for both individual and group counseling. Counseling is provided for as long as the survivor needs our services, without session limits. Survivors may attend both individual and group sessions.

Education & Outreach- this program focuses on increasing awareness and ultimately, working to end sexual violence in the Brazos Valley.  Outreach Coordinators provide educational presentations and workshops to the community in both English and Spanish

SARC is committed to not only addressing the immediate and long term needs of survivors of sexual violence, but also addressing gaps and barriers within services. SARC continues to serve the survivors in the Brazos Valley that have been impacted by sexual violence and work to end sexual violence.
