The Gold Thread Gallery is our monthly art exhibition featuring "starting artists": those in our collective who have enormous talent but lack the time, the space, or the resources to share their work at public markets & galleries. Our gallery has tremendous potential to benefit the artists, to build The Novelty Collective's connection to the surrounding community, & to bring hundreds of locals together in celebration of the arts. That is why we are taking steps to ensure the presentation honors each creator, which will also bolster NoCo's credibility as an elevated space for artists.

As it stands, The COVE functions primarily as a collection of art studios—great for the creation of art but not currently equipped to display it in a gallery setting. Our plan to make both a reality involves hiring a local contractor to build customized, mobile walls. This will enable us to show full collections of work created by our amazing artists in a format that best tells their story through a cohesive, museum-quality exhibition!

The Novelty Collective’s commitment to excellence & passion to elevate starting artists demands that we graduate from our eclectic collection of well-worn easels. We exist to lower the bar of entry to access the arts & provide creatives with resources of the highest standard. Investing in professional-grade equipment is investing in them. This project will further benefit the many artists we platform through the programs, events, & enrichment opportunities we offer throughout the year, including our very own Afterschool students when we showcase their art to family & friends at the start of each summer!

The Novelty Collective ("NoCo") is a Christian 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a vision to "restore creation to its Creator." We provide free studio space, art supplies, & programming for creatives at our location just outside of downtown Pittsburgh, PA. Our Afterschool program serves dozens of local middle school & high school students, while our adult artist network extends all the way to the West Coast.

The Novelty Collective is a community for everyone, regardless of age, ability, belief (creed), gender, ethnicity, background, socioeconomic status, or identity.
