Support Our Mission

Widely regarded as NYC’s most ambitious artist residency and often described as the "Y-Combinator of the Art World", Silver Art is a New York–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit artist residency located on the 28th floor of 4 World Trade Center.

Since 2019, our 44,000 sq. ft. full-floor studio program has supported over 150 artists, providing free year-long studio space, career development, and access to top curators, gallerists, and collectors, helping to launch the careers of some of today's top contemporary artists. Alumni have gone on to receive major public commissions, museum shows, press recognition, and top-tier gallery representation. Silver Art Projects selects artists through a highly competitive, merit-based process that ensures the most promising talent receives support.

Each year, thousands of applications are reviewed based on artistic excellence, originality, and impact. Artists are selected by a distinguished Selection Committee composed of curators, museum directors, collectors, and industry leaders. Past judges have included Jeenie Greenberg, Venus Williams, Swizz Beats, Marilyn Minter, Sophia Cohen, and Everette Taylor. Our annual open call welcomes artists of all backgrounds—no degree required—with a focus on BIPOC, AAPI, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and justice-impacted communities. Past residents have ranged in age from 21 to 65.

We partner with institutions, philanthropists, and brands who believe in building the future of contemporary art. To learn how you or your organization can support our mission—from sponsoring a studio to hosting a private event—reach out to us at [email protected].
