To coincide with our Easter birthday weekend, The Sisters offer another chance to celebrate while also peeking into our history since our illustrious beginnings in 1979 with images, artwork, photos, and ephemera. Our legendary annual Indulgence in the Park birthday celebrations include a pilgrimage to Queer Mecca by our Sisters, Guards, and other amazing siblings from around the world. Doing an epic Archives show is the brainchild of Novice Sister Lolly Gagg’N as part of her Novice Project, and aims to educate on the legacy, activism, and cultural impact of The Sisters—Queer Visionaries who embody joy, care, protest, and mutual aid as spiritual guideposts for all.🏛️🎓

The indulgent pop-up party, celebrating the Sistory of one of the most unique groups to ever exist, features a full takeover of the Center’s Rainbow Room 🌈🏳️‍🌈 by Saint Deidre Defranceaux’s epic mixed media oil paintings/sculptures of The Sisters; the monumental portraits include sculptural and three-dimensional elements encased in epoxy resin, capturing the community-grounded hopeful defiance of the artists and activists.

Developed in collaboration with The SF LGBTQ Center the project emphasizes accessibility, education, and community connection. The Sisters extend our heartfelt thanks to exhibition co-presenters The Center's Timothy Hampton, Tammy Pham, and Michael Pembridge for helping bring our Sistory to full vibrancy. ❤️🦄💕
