Kailey Brautigam's Story

I’m an autism self advocate with the opportunity to travel abroad with SkillCorps through the Global Autism Project for a two week volunteer trip. The mission of the Global Autism Project is to bridge the gap of awareness and acceptance of autism globally. I’m extremely excited and passionate about this life changing opportunity to use my knowledge and experience to help autistic individuals around the world live up to their potential. Volunteers work with autism centers, schools, and the community to provide training and support to continue to provide effective services to autistic individuals. I hope to play a small part in improving the lives of autistic children by giving them and others in their lives the knowledge and skills to live their best life and advocate for themselves. I believe we’re all called to something bigger/greater than ourselves and to make a piece of the world slightly better than we found it and this is a wonderful opportunity to do that.

In order to participate, I need to fundraise $9,500 which goes towards travel and accommodations for my trip, as well as training, program development, mentoring new partner sites, and to fulfill the Global Autism Project mission.

If interested in giving please click the donate button above. Any and all support would be greatly appreciated, whether that’s through your well wishes, prayers, or donations. Thank you very much for your support!
