Skip Pennington will be traveling to Zambia July 31 to August 12, 2024 with a group from the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Purpose
The purpose of the trip is to develop relationships with Joe and Ashley Riddle, Global Ministry Missionaries from the North Alabama Conference of the UMC, serving in Zambia. The team will create ways to provide support for Joe and/or Ashley with their local projects in Zambia and pave the path for future teams to serve with them.

The trip cost $4,000. This includes flights, transportation, food, housing, project materials, UVIM insurance, accommodations, food, and cultural options.

Wednesday, July 31 Depart from Birmingham
Thursday, August 1 Traveling to Africa
Friday, August 2 Arrive in Lusaka, Zambia
Saturday, August 3 Meeting with church leaders
Sunday, August 4 Attend church and do training
Monday, August 5 Finish training
Tuesday, August 6 Visit the plastic recycling center and work on the parsonage
Wednesday, August 7 continue construction in the morning and fly to Livingstone in the afternoon/evening
Thursday, August 8 Chobe Park Safari
Friday, August 9 Visit Victoria Falls
Saturday, August 10 Return to Lukasa to debrief with Riddles
Sunday, August 11 Depart Lusaka for flights to the USA
Monday, August 12 Arrive in Birmingham

Projects
Visit churches and pastors.
District meeting with church leaders.
Provide training for church leaders in Lusaka District.
Work in the plastic recycling center and learn about Plastpave ecobricks and the possible construction of a parsonage.
Wesley Dinner Church one night.
Help lead a Children’s Day.
