Each year, we ask our community to help us plan for the coming one by contributing about 20% of our annual budget. This has historically helped us stabilize, but this year we're working on growth.

What does growth mean to us? Not necessarily growing larger. What we’re aiming for is about depth, aligning more closely with our values, and centering the people who most need what we can offer.

Here are just a few of the things we hope to do in 2023:

Open the library for more hours on more days to increase tool access
End late fees for tool borrowers
Provide at least 6 discounted or free class seats each month

Form a board of trustees that represents the gender, racial, and economic reality of our city
Train all 75+ volunteers and staff in first aid, racial equity and consensus-based governance
Transition away from fiscal sponsorship to save money and create our own governance structures

We are so excited to be taking these steps toward a new way of being in community together, that reflects the trust, justice, and joy that underscore everything we do.

The more we align our programming with our values and reduce financial barriers, the more we rely on the community members who can afford it to fund this work.
