My name is Ashley Saavedra Bendek and I am the Program Coordinator for the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Program at Logan Health ASSIST. I first became aware of the Flathead Warming Center in April 2023 when I began working for ASSIST. Their mission to help those suffering from homelessness is vital. Flathead Warming Center isn’t just providing emergency shelter to folks in the winter months, they are connecting them to resources essential to their transition out of homelessness. They work with organizations throughout the community so that individuals and families can have access to wrap around services, all in one location. So when Jane Emmert asked if my husband and I would be interested in participating in this event, it was an easy yes.
My husband Cristian has a heart bigger than anyone I’ve ever known, so I didn’t have to even try to convince him to participate. He said yes, immediately. Plus he loves to dance and is really good at it, so that is a bonus for us! 😊 While I, personally, am very nervous to perform in front of so many people, I know it’s going to be so much fun and so worth it to raise money for such an amazing organization. My husband and I are honored to be participating in the cause.
