Solidarity Field School

This project provides emergency first-aid trainings intentionally designed to cultivate liberatory care practices.

Emergency response skills are a form of collective power and community self-defense. However, this valuable knowledge is too often mystified, professionalized, and obscured.

Our communities deserve access to first-aid education
that is rigorous, compassionate, culturally grounded,
and politically informed.

As climate collapse, large-scale disasters, violent political repression intensify, and public health systems continue to be dismantled, frontline and marginalized communities have even more reasons to skill up.

Most first-aid courses frame emergencies as occurring in a neutral system, assuming authorities are inherently helpful. They rarely acknowledge medical racism or carceral responses to crisis as forces that can put people in even more danger at the very moment they are seeking care.

This project bridges that gap by developing programs that prepare responders to navigate both medical crises and the inequitable systems surrounding them.
