The Spay/Neuter Fund
Help Prevent The Crisis Before It Starts.
At Northern Adirondack Pet Fund, we focus on veterinary care when families are blindsided by the unexpected. But lately, we’ve been overwhelmed with requests for something else entirely: spay and neuter.
This isn’t part of our core mission, but we know the need is real.
That’s why we’re launching a separate Spay/Neuter Fund to support families who want to do the right thing but can’t afford the cost.
Spay/neuter prevents suffering, reduces overpopulation, and supports the health of pets and their communities. For low-income households, however, the cost can feel impossible, but you can help change that.
- Funds are disbursed either through prepaid assistance cards (restricted to eligible veterinary services) or sent directly to licensed service providers, based on the provider’s billing policies and willingness to coordinate with our organization.
How It Works:
- Eligibility Verified We confirm that each applicant lives locally and falls below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
- Fair, Sliding-Scale Support Assistance is based on household income.
- Focused, Preventive Care This fund is exclusively for spay and neuter procedures and not for other veterinary procedures.
Why This Fund Matters:
Preventing a problem is always better than responding to one. Spay and neuter services are proven to:
- Reduce shelter overcrowding and euthanasia rates.
- Lower the risk of certain cancers and infections.
- Improve behavior and prevent unplanned litters.
We believe cost shouldn’t be a barrier to responsible pet care. With your help, it doesn’t have to be.
Please Consider Becoming A Recurring Donor.
A monthly gift helps us plan ahead, respond to more requests, and keep this fund going strong for families who need it most. Together, we can make responsible pet ownership accessible for everyone.
The Spay/Neuter Fund, a program of Northern Adirondack Pet Fund Inc, provides access to affordable sterilization services for low-income families in Clinton, Essex, and Franklin Counties, New York. To qualify, applicants must meet eligibility requirements, and the pet’s medical need must be confirmed through a written estimate provided by a licensed veterinarian.
