Every family deserves a safe place to rest, dream, and rebuild.
This year, Neighborhood Place of Puna invites you to be part of the solution to family homelessness through our Sponsor a Hale campaign. Your sponsorship provides a lifeline to parents and children who are working to overcome the trauma of homelessness and build a brighter, more stable future.
Hale ʻIki is NPP’s Family Assessment Center, an emergency shelter located in Puna. It provides a safe space for families experiencing homelessness to heal, stabilize, and take the next steps toward permanent housing.
Hale ʻIki consists of 10 micro-units, or hale, where families receive essential services like food, clothing, and access to a shared kitchen, laundry, and bathroom facilities. More importantly, it’s a place where they can begin healing from the trauma of homelessness, with 24/7 support from compassionate staff providing a safe and nurturing environment.
And on any given day, when keiki laughter fills the air, it reminds us that hope still lives here.
By becoming a Hale Sponsor, you provide direct, tangible support for families transitioning from homelessness to stability.
Monthly Sponsorship: $200 per month in 2026
One-Time Sponsorship: $2,400 per hale per year
You can even sponsor more than one hale or rally your business, congregation, or community group to join together in support.
Your sponsorship helps cover essentials like:
Bedding, furniture, and hygiene supplies
Rental applications and vital document replacements
Kitchen essentials and move-in costs
You’ll also help maintain a safe, clean, and hopeful environment where families can heal and rebuild with dignity.
Ending family homelessness is a community effort, and your commitment to Sponsor a Hale means that you are part of the solution. Your sponsorship does more than provide shelter — it restores hope.
Because of supporters like you:
Families can move from crisis to stability
Children can laugh, play, and dream again
Parents can focus on rebuilding their futures
Together, we can end family homelessness in Hawaiʻi County — one hale, one family at a time.
With just 10 hale available, this opportunity is limited. Reserve your sponsorship now and make 2026 a year of transformation for families in need.
Thank you for standing with us in the fight to end family homelessness in Hawaiʻi County. Your commitment changes lives, creates opportunity, and fosters a stronger, more compassionate community.
Sponsor a Hale today. Be the reason a local family in Hawaiʻi finds hope and a home.
