Presented by Jonah Platt, Jewtina y Co. NuRoots LA & Pico Union Project

Event Details | Sunday, October 18th, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM PT | Pico-Union Project

This is bridge-building celebration invites Latino/e and Jewish communities to share space, ritual, and tradition. It's multigenerational by design, with dedicated programming for kids and families, a young adult program built around a panel and marketplace, and shared moments — the community ofrenda, live music — that bring everyone into the same room. The marketplace itself doubles as a platform for local Latino and Jewish small businesses and artists to be seen by a community built to support them.

Event Highlights

Family programming: arts & crafts, reading corner
Community ofrenda-building ceremony
Live mariachi and a folklórico dance performance
Live music and performances by Latin-Jewish artists
Curated vendor market of Latino and Jewish artisans and food purveyors
Cross-cultural menu featuring Jewish and Latino food and drinks

Intended Audience

The Día de los Muertos Event is a community celebration for Latino and Jewish Angelenos of all ages — families, young adults, and allies who want to take part in a joint tradition of memory and gathering. We anticipate 250+ multigenerational attendees, building on last year's turnout of 200, and expect the crowd to reflect the genuine overlap and diversity of LA's Latino and Jewish communities.

Projected Partner Reach

This event is projected to reach over 275,000+ individuals based on the combined Instagram followings across current presenting partners Jonah Platt, Jewtina y Co., and NuRoots.
