Spreading Smiles started in our family’s restaurant kitchen during COVID when schools closed and families were struggling. We began cooking meals so children wouldn’t go hungry. Neighbors joined in, word spread, and it grew from there.

Today, we are a 501(c)(3) and 100% volunteer-run. Every week we provide weekend meal bags to over 750 children across Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Stafford, and King George. We also provide coats, hoodies, shoes, and holiday support for families who aren’t receiving help anywhere else. We work directly with school counselors and the McKinney-Vento liaisons so everything goes straight to the kids who need it most. No forms. No barriers. Just care.

This is truly a community effort. Volunteers pack and deliver. Local businesses donate. Schools help us identify needs quickly and quietly. Everyone does what they can, so no child feels forgotten.

Our goal is simple:
Make sure the kids in our community feel seen, supported, and able to just be kids.
