Bug ID Day

Saturday, June 7th, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM EDT

In Person

Come be a citizen scientist and help us sort through the fascinating world of aquatic macro-invertebrates (aka "bugs") collected during our spring sampling! June 6th, 2025 at 6 - 7pm LISD Center for a Sustainable Future (4260 Tipton Hwy, Adrian MI) Volunteers will be working together to categorize these tiny creatures into groups. Dr. Kratz will be on hand to guide the process and confirm identifications, offering a fantastic opportunity to learn about these important indicators of water quality. No prior experience is necessary! This is a great chance to get hands-on with local ecology and contribute to valuable research. Come and go as you are able! Feel free to join us for any amount of time between 2 PM and 6 PM. Every bit of effort will be greatly appreciated! What you'll be doing: - Sorting macro-invertebrates from our collected samples. - Learning about different types of aquatic insects and other invertebrates. - Contributing valuable data to our watershed monitoring efforts. This is a fun and educational event for anyone interested in local waterways and the small creatures that call them home. We hope to see you there!
