Join Third Wave’s STARs in resourcing the gender justice movement!

Third Wave Fund resources and supports youth-led, intersectional, gender justice activism. We center young Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), queer, trans, intersex people and sex workers in our leadership and our grantmaking. This is because we know the people most directly impacted by gender oppression are best positioned to transform it, and today, we’re inviting you to join Third Wave in resourcing that transformation.

From our grantees to our staff to our brilliant Advisory Council, the STARs, our people are activists, cultural workers, healers, donor organizers, storytellers, and historians. Our communities are powerful beyond measure, and we’ve seen what our grantee partners can do when we resource them like we want to win.

That’s why this year we’ve given our STARs a big challenge: can we organize our collective networks to raise $26,000 for Third Wave before 2024 is up?!?

When our communities insist on our creativity, joy, and self-determination, that represents a threat to the right and their preoccupation with our bodies and freedoms. Over the past few years, we’ve been targeted for our principled support of Palestine, our fearless insistence on sex worker rights, and our vision of a world without prisons and policing. But where big philanthropy goes more conservative in the face of right wing attacks, we double down in our support of intersectional gender justice movements, even if that means lost funding or connections.

From 6-year grants to organizations like the anti-militarist student group Dissenters to rapid response funding for mutual aid and abortion access in the wake of Hurricane Helene, we show up for gender justice without compromise, and we count on our community of principled donors to do the same for us.
