"Stop the Wood Ave Warehouse" coalition formed in September 2024 and consists of neighbors, academics, field professionals, attorneys, and local businesses and organizations in an effort to stop the proposed one million square foot mega-warehouse at 1525 Wood Avenue, Easton PA (between 13th and 25th Street exits on Route 22)

The coalition has proudly been sustained for over seven months through in-kind donations and volunteers. We are asking for donations now because we are not backing down to Scannell Properties and their cash-grabbing attempt to blight and poison our neighborhoods for generations to come. Learn more and join the coalitionhttps://stopwoodwarehouse.wordpress.com/

THE ISSUES:

Scannell Properties has proposed building a one million square foot mega-warehouse “Easton Commerce Park” at 1525 Wood Avenue, near the 13th Street exit off of Route 22. A majority of the 106-acre property is located in Wilson Borough, with the remainder being in Easton and Palmer.

The proposed mega-warehouse is a direct threat to our community and the region's quality of life, including Easton, Palmer, Forks, Wilson and Phillipsburg. This is not just a community issue but also a serious environmental concern. The project fails to meet the highest long-term standards necessary for protecting our health, natural resources, habitats, economy, and the sustainability of our roads and infrastructure.

In summary, residents, businesses, and environmental groups who will have to deal with the long-term, generational effects of the ill-conceived warehouse cash-grab, our elected officials and local boards and commissions responsible for reviewing this proposed development have many concerns. We will continue to monitor this activity and provide the reports, plans, and documents to the public through our website and hosting regular coalition meetings, and keeping the public informed on local board meetings.

Although we are aware that this project has the potential to mitigate a toxic prior use and provide badly needed financial support to the borough of Wilson, the toxicity, massive footprint, and 24/7 heavy activity affecting the region is not the answer.
