Stormy's Medical Fundraiser

Stormy Update 

Miss Stormy’s had a tough few days. She stopped eating and drinking, and just seemed off. On Tuesday she slowly approached me and looked at me a way she never has before, as if she was trying to tell me something was wrong. Then she hopped into my lap to cuddle and sleep, which is normal behavior but it was clear she wasn’t okay. That’s also when I noticed a fowl smell coming from her insides. I immediately called the vet to get her in asap because she clearly needed treatment.

After a trip to the ER vet (our usual vet and non ER vets didn’t have availability until the weekend and she need treatment asap), we found out she has a crop infection, low calcium, and is underweight. She’s on meds, calcium supplements, and strict bed rest. Thankfully, she started eating and drinking again yesterday morning. So she’s improving, but she’s still fighting off the infection and healing.

Crop infections can be serious and even fatal if left untreated, so we’re so relieved we caught it in time. The ER visit wasn’t cheap though — her bill is already at $694, so we’ve set up a fundraiser to help cover the costs. Any donations go straight to her treatment and recovery.
