A New Home for Small Town Project. Built by the Community, for Generations to Come.

For more than a century, a seed processing facility in Rocky Ford helped power the agricultural heart of the Arkansas Valley. It cleaned, stored, and prepared the literal seeds that fed families and built livelihoods across this region.

Today, that same building is ready for its next purpose.

Small Town Project was born from a simple belief: when a community takes care of its own, everyone has a chance to thrive.

Since 2019, neighbors across Rocky Ford and the Arkansas Valley have come together to ensure families have access to healthy food, essential household items, youth programming, and a safe place to land when life gets hard. What started as a grassroots effort has grown into a lifeline serving more than 3,600 individuals every month, powered by over 100 volunteers and countless acts of generosity.

But our community is changing.

Families are working full-time and still struggling. Seniors on fixed incomes are forced to choose between groceries and utilities. Kids need safe after-school spaces where they can learn, dream, and grow. Our current space was never built for this scale of service. Limited storage, inadequate refrigeration, and a lack of program rooms now hold us back from serving our neighbors with the dignity they deserve.

🏗 The Vision: The Seed House

We are launching a $750,000 capital campaign to renovate this historic seed processing facility into The Seed House, a permanent home for Small Town Project and a place that will nurture the most important seeds of all: the people of the Arkansas Valley.

Inside The Seed House, we will:

Expand our food pantry and cold-storage capacity so families can receive fresh, healthy food.
Establish a centralized hub for local food processing and packaging, strengthening the bond between local growers and local families.
Create safe rooms for after-school youth programs, tutoring, and mentoring.
Build a community training and business incubator space, helping residents grow skills and start small businesses.

A building that once sustained crops will now cultivate hope, resilience, and opportunity.
